SERVICES
The City of Jackson Fire Department is located at 139 Holley Street and offers several services to the citizens of Jackson. Due to their high standards and concern for the citizens, the Jackson Fire Department has been awarded the low ISO rating of 5 which helps keep the insurance premiums low for businesses and residents within the city.
In addition to fire protection, the Jackson Fire Department offers the following services:
- Provide smoke detectors to residents upon request
- Offer fire extinguisher instruction class for businesses upon request
- Offer Fire Safety Education with Axe the Fire Dog upon request
- Provide fire watch at football games
- Back up Butts County EMS as First Responders
- Perform inspections for new businesses; these inspections are required for City of Jackson Occupational Tax and cost $100
- Perform annual fire safety inspections for existing businesses free of charge
- Provide construction plan review for new construction, the cost is $100
- Issue burn permits
- Sell water from the fire hydrant for portable water tanks at a price of $1 per thousand gallons (service not available during drought).
