POLICE & JAIL OPERATIONS
The Chief of Police is responsible for the overall operations of the City's law enforcement agency consisting of 13 sworn police officers. The City of Jackson Police department houses inmates at the Butts County Sheriff's Department Detention Center.
The City of Jackson Police Department is responsible for law enforcement and services to all residents, businesses, and visitors inside the corporate limits of Jackson 24 hours a day. Butts County 911 Center provides around the clock emergency service contacts for ALL City departments. Officers stand ready to respond with the most modern equipment to handle any situation or provide help with any law enforcement-related service you might need.
COOPERATIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The Police Department maintains productive and cooperative working relationships with local law enforcement agencies of neighboring jurisdictions, as well as with those at the federal and state level, sharing information and resources as needed for effective drug interdiction and other critical police services. This is a very important part of the Jackson Police Department's spirit of cooperation between agencies and its commitment to those its members are sworn to protect and serve.

This is a program where senior residents can sign up for a office manager to call them to check on their well being.

Bank escorts are available to all businesses in the city.
